My favorite new star of 2008, "Slumdog Millionaire" star Freida Pinto, continued to establish herself as my numero uno stylista at this weekend's BAFTA Awards. It's sorta like the British Oscars, so all the expected winners won. Kate Winslet snagged Best Actress, Mickey Rourke was crowned Best Actor, Heath Ledger was dubbed Best Supporting Actor and Penelope Cruz took home Best Supporting Actress.
As for Freida's film, well, it continued to give director Danny Boyle umpteen reasons to reinforce his shelves. Not only did it nab Best Film and Best Director, but also Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Music, Best Sound and Best Cinematography.
With the Academy Awards less than two weeks away, the assumption that "Slumdog" would run out of steam clearly appears to be a lot of hot air. I can not wait to see what Freida wears!
