Pop star Pink has spoken out about her controversial interview with TVNZ, claiming that reporter Hannah Hodson had "lost her marbles" and was insane

Pop star Pink has spoken out about her controversial interview with TVNZ, claiming that reporter Hannah Hodson had "lost her marbles" and was "insane".

Hodson quit her job as a reporter on TVNZ's current affairs show Close Up show on Friday following the October 23 interview, in which a fracas reportedly broke out.

It turned nasty after Hodson - whose sister used to work as an assistant to the star - took an aggressive line of questioning.

Pink walked out, and her angry manager then reportedly tried to take the video tape but ended up in a scuffle with two TVNZ employees.

In an inteview filmed with C4 directly after the fraught Close Up one, Pink told presenter Phil Bostwick she was trying to be polite but Hodson was "insane".

"She's f**king insane," Pink said.

"She lost her marbles somewhere between there and here ... Her sister used to work for me. Her sister no longer works for me."

Bostwick asked her if that was the problem.

"I think so ... I'm not sure. I was really polite too, it was really hard."

C4 also played excerpts of the aftermath of the Close Up interview in which someone can be heard saying, "Can we get some help in here please".

A woman believed to be Hodson then says: "Let go of our camera ... let go of our camera ... this is our property, how dare you."

A TVNZ spokeswoman denied reports that the interview included questions from Hodson about why her sister had lost her job.

"Her sister was mentioned in cordial terms. There was no challenge made about her employment," TVNZ's Megan Richards said.

She said Hodson resigned, effective immediately, on Friday and "as far as TVNZ is concerned that is the end of the matter".

TVNZ had an inquiry into issues arising from the Pink interview and nothing else.

Ms Richards said TVNZ would start the process to find a replacement for Hodson this week.

Hodson could not be contacted by Stuff.co.nz for comment.

In 2004, Hodson was asked to resign from TV3 after a fax she sent to police revealed the identity of the person who had leaked the log of a 111 call made by missing Auckland model Iraena Asher.
